DMT Barbershop & Beauty Spot began as a neighborhood barbershop and evolved into a full barbershop and beauty salon serving families across Jamaica, Queens. As a certified woman-owned and minority-owned business, we focus on quality, respect, and opportunity — creating a welcoming space where style, culture, and community come together.

A Journey From Kingston, Jamaica to Jamaica, Queens
The story of DMT Barbershop & Beauty Spot begins with Andria Clarke-White — immigrant, educator, entrepreneur, sustainability leader, and CEO.
Raised in Kingston, Jamaica, Andria migrated to Jamaica, Queens with determination and a deep belief in education and community.
She began her academic journey at Queensborough Community College, earning her Associate’s Degree. She continued on to Queens College, earning her Bachelor’s Degree, and then completed two Master’s Degrees in Education — all while working full-time and building her life in New York.
For more than 30 years, Andria served as an educator with the New York City Board of Education, mentoring students, supporting families, and shaping the next generation.
Education shaped her leadership.
Community shaped her purpose.

In 1999, Andria purchased DMT Barbershop & Beauty Spot and transformed it into a space rooted in culture, respect, and opportunity.
